Review of: 9 Months In by Tzachs, Noavana, and gameboy The premise for this game is rather interesting – you play a female prisoner accused of attempting to murder her husband. Not only that, but you’re pregnant and – at 9 months, as the game’s title suggests – almost ready to pop. Finally, you wake up one morning to find that your best friend and cell-mate has been murdered. Of course, you are the number one suspect – in fact, you are the only suspect, since you were the only one in the cell that night and the doors aren’t set to open until the morning. So, quite a predicament you find yourself in. How can you find out who did it, and prove your innocence? 9 Months In takes an interesting idea and gives you 2 different endings, although most of the game is rather linear. There are a few simple puzzles, but mainly the enjoyment of this game stems from the atmosphere, which it has in spades. The storyline is interesting enough to keep things going. The graphics are quite basic but well designed and there are some nice animations, and there is quite a good retro adventure game vibe going on. I found the voice acting to be quite variable, but overall it definitely added to the game. Given that a small team had a fairly short period of time to work on this, 9 Months In is an enjoyable game, albeit not very long. Personally I’m not that much of a fan of the multiple endings idea, and I would have been more interested in it here if you could at least have had more than one save slot. It won’t take you very long to complete, perhaps an hour, and maybe a bit more to find the second ending.
