Rescue Team 2 is a time management game where you control a team of rescue workers (you’d never have guessed, huh?) in various disaster-torn areas. You control builders, medics, rescue boats and helicopters to rescue and heal people, remove obstructions, repair buildings and bridges, etc (including, for some reason gathering gems!). Each level takes place on a single screen, but the challenges presented to you are reasonably different, and every so often a new natural disaster throws itself at you in the middle of a level – man I hate those pesky meteor showers!! The short tutorial shows you how the game works quickly and painlessly Rescue Team 2 isn’t a difficult game, although if you want to get maximum points – completing the level in the “gold” time – it can be very challenging. The whole game is pretty laid-back, you can play it at your own pace and I don’t think there were any end game situations. The levels are well designed, always possible to complete in time, but requiring quick actions and effective decision-making in terms of what order to do things in order to get the quick completion times. You also need to manage your resources effectively; there are only a few of these so it never becomes too complicated, but there are enough to help keep things interesting and you need to keep an eye on a few things as you play each level. Every level has its own set of completion criteria, maybe including rescuing workers or civilians, repairing certain buildings, finding gems, or any combination of these. Sometimes you have a special task to perform, like repairing a TV tower The music are sound effects are okay but quite repetitive. The graphics have a nice cartoony quality and despite the fact that the entire levels are packed onto a single screen, everything’s always very clear. The animation is simple but highly effective, and there are a few nice visual touches, such as fireworks and everyone coming out and waving at you when a level is complete. On the map screen you can play the next level or replay any level you have already completed The money you earn goes towards repairing your own house, though from the size of it and the cost of the repairs, you’re obviously pretty high up and well paid in the world of disaster relief! This adds a nice little extra dimension to the game, and it’s quite nice seeing the broken windows etc get replaced with brand spanking new ones. Once you’ve completed a level you can replay it, and any money you earn is kept – so you’ll never have a situation where you can’t fully rebuild your house. Nice shack. Must be a well-paid job! I’ve not played the first Rescue Team game, but I get the impression that it’s similar to this one without quite as many features. Either way, Rescue Team 2 is a simple and highly enjoyable game, and despite its general easiness, getting a Gold rating on each level is actually pretty challenging. The little tutorial at the start is effective without being long enough to irritate. If you like time management games, then Rescue Team 2 comes highly recommended, especially if you also like game that you can play in a very relaxing way. If you really want tension and excitement then this one isn’t really for you. Rescue Team 2 Website Rescue Team 2 Demo Download PC Game Reviews and News
