Nintendo has announced that its 3D plat former game for the Nintendo DS, Super Mario 3DS will be available by the end of the year. “It’s a combination of Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario on N64. It won’t convey the message if I talk to you today, but if you play it at E3, that will give you more understanding of what I’m talking about.” Said Shigeru Miyamoto, the producer of the game.
The game was firstly announced at Nintendo’s Keynote Conference during the 2011 Game Developers Conference held in San Francisco. While four screenshots and a tentative logo were shown, more details are stated to be revealed at E3 2011. In November 2010, Shigeru Miyamoto announced that both 2D and 3D Mario games are in the works for the 3DS. Available screenshots of Super Mario reveal that the game is a 3D plat former. The game is being developed by Nintendo EAD Tokyo, which had previously developed Super Mario Galaxy and its sequel. Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata pointed out that the game’s tentative logo sports a tail, and stated that its purpose will be revealed at E3 2011.
